Special Veterans Day Message and Links to the Presidential Prayer Team

Greetings Friend of God,

Let's pause a moment or two sometime today and say a prayer of thanksgiving to all the veterans who have served America and many have laid down their lives so we can be free.

One of the most beautiful scenes I saw on the news regarding the war in Iraq was on their first election day. Remember, those people were so excited to vote they would stand amid the gunfire waiting patiently for the chance, the privilege to vote. And the women being able to vote for the first time in history! Now, that is historic. How come we don't hear more about all the schools, hospitals, water supply systems, sewer systems, etc. that have been built. Freedom comes with a price. We pray they appreciate their freedom that will come. With freedom comes responsibilities.

Listen to this beautiful rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic done by school children.

Hold onto your seat this is powerful!

Get a load of these high school kids.
At the conclusion listen to the high notes on the trumpet . . . played by a high school kid?
One of the fathers recorded it, added some graphic enhancements to the recording, and posted it on the web.

The song, of course, is the ' Battle Hymn of the Republic.'
Be prepared . . . it will definitely send a few shivers up your spine. Click below!

President Bush has initiated support and hospitality to President Elect Obama by calling his with his words of congratulations and by inviting him and his family to the White House to begin their transition and adjustment.  Pray for this new relationship and for the continuing work on the transition between administrations, asking that there will be strong liaison between these two men and their teams.

Pray for President Bush as on November 11, Veteran's Day, he visits the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York, and makes remarks at the rededication of the museum. The President will be presented with the 2008 Intrepid Freedom Award, which recognizes world leaders who embody the ideals of world freedom and democracy.  Of the many guests in attendance, 2,500 of them will be veterans, who will also take place in New York City's Veteran's Day Parade.  Give thanks for this meaningful event and pray for God's presence and protection over all who participate.

Pray for President Bush as he prepares to take part in the United Nations meeting on interfaith dialogue, in New York City on November 13.  Called for by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, this gathering will initiate dialogue between all religions, both at home and abroad. The United States affirms its support for individual religious freedom, the right to practice one's religion, the equality of all people regardless of their religious faith, and the other principles of religious freedom enshrined in the U.N. Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Pray for God's blessing and presence on this gathering and on the President as he takes part.  He will also hold a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah in New York on November 13.

Pray for our country's new President Elect, Barack Obama, as he now moves forward with plans, opening his transition office and naming his chief of staff today.  Pray for God's powerful guidance and anointing on him through every decision and every plan. Pray for godly people to step up in advisory roles, and pray that concerns of faith and prayer will remain foremost in his administration.

Give thanks for the blessings of freedom and liberty in our nation, as millions voted in Tuesday's election.  Thank God for the wise foundation of our government this was put in place by our Founding Fathers.  Pray for continued wisdom for those who continue to safeguard our Constitution and all laws.

Pray for unity in our nation as we now prepare for the future under the leadership of President Elect Obama. Pray for a spirit of reconciliation and sincere, supportive cooperation among citizens of every persuasion, so we may see effective leadership and healing in America.  Pray for continued willingness to pray for our newly elected leaders with respect and dedication to God and His sovereign will.

As the nation pauses to honor our veterans on November 11, Veteran's Day, give thanks for the great sacrifices of all who have served our country through military service.  Pray for those who need comfort and encouragement to receive it; pray for those needing services to receive them.  Pray also that every living veteran will know the gratitude of a thankful nation.

Give thanks for the dedication of all members of our military as they serve faithfully in and out of harm's way.  Pray for protection for each one, regardless of their post or responsibilities; pray for encouragement and strength for those who are experiencing multiple deployments—some as many as five or six—asking God to cover them with His care and reveal to them His love.
