 Miracle Healing of Deaf Man in India!

After already preaching to several villages today, Pastor Joy asked me if I was willing to preach to a group that would assemble in the middle of the jungle—an impromptu gathering to avoid detection and persecution. I told her I had come to work, not to rest. I would rest later. So she called her people and set up the meeting.

It was supposed to be an hour or a bit more before we got there. We set out just after 5 p.m. and drove north by 7 p.m. I asked if we were almost there? No, there is more to go, I was told. The road was bumpy and full of turns. It was hot and muggy, and the trip went on. Around 9:20, we pulled into a field and stopped. We were there. It was dark by now, but the event organizers had bright flood lights to illuminate the area where we would have the service. 

I was tired. My cough, although only a remnant from 2 weeks prior, decided to make a robust comeback. The air was heavy, and it was getting more so all the time. Later I was told everyone there was afraid tigers would show up. But I was focused on the task at hand. The Holy Spirit had already told me what to preach (out of John's Gospel) and that there were many souls there who would turn to Jesus. So tigers were the farthest thing from my mind.

Around 100 people were in attendance. I preached for around 30 minutes and gave an alter call. I had been told everyone there was Christian, but I knew better. I had seen repeatedly that every meeting was potentially full of people who needed to give their lives to Jesus for the first time. So when I gave the altar call, 30 people responded, repented, and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Of course, I always focus on discipleship and the need foreveryone to lay it all down to give it all to Jesus. He deserves nothing less than all of us.

1. A healing service immediately followed. Many people began crowding forward. After 20 minutes or so, a man stood before me. The pastor who organized the event told me he was totally deaf in both ears. I found out later he had fallen from a high vantage point, and the impact had blown out both his ears. He had been deaf for 7 years. But I didn't know this when he was standing before me. I asked the Lord what He wanted me to do. It became crystal clear to me that he needed a creative miracle, that indeed, his ears were not only deaf but destroyed from within. I also saw in the spirit that this man had sought Hindu healers and was, therefore, under a curse.

2. So the first thing I did was call upon the blood of Jesus and break the curse. Keep in mind that all the while, the man was standing silently, like a statue, before me. Then I put my fingers in each of his ears and asked Jesus to restore his hearing, cause his brain to remember how to hear, heal the eardrums, the hammer, the anvil, and all the ear parts that were atrophied and dead.

You can see in the picture that I was praying these things. Suddenly the power of the Holy Spirit hit him. He crumpled to the ground. I was barely able to help him as he fell, but I was able to lay him down gently. I continued to pray for him for a while while he was on the ground.

I turned to pray for the next person. I don't remember what or who. After only a minute or so, people started to talk in excited tones. The man was shaking violently, twitching and shaking, especially his head. The people cried out, "he has a demon!" I said, "No,, this is the power of the Holy Spirit moving over him. Leave him alone!" After a few more minutes, he sat up. The pastor who had set up the meeting asked him from behind, "What happened to you?" Without turning around, the man said, "An electrical current like lightning hit me and ran throughout my body. When I sat up, I could hear again."

As you can imagine, I spent much more time praying for everyone's needs. Then we had a brief meal. It was now near 11 p.m. And knowing that we had a very long drive ahead of us, we decided to depart. An hour later, the pastor called pastor Joy and relayed the following message. No one who had come to this meeting of believers was actually a committed Christian. But when they saw the true power of God heal the deaf man (and others that were healed that night)

3. They all declared they wanted to follow Jesus and take Him as their Lord and Savior—all 100, including the 30 who had already prayed earlier. They wanted to really pray this time and truly accept Jesus! So the pastor and all 100 prayed again. They were so excited they wanted to tell us immediately. We went home that night, our hearts full of gratitude and rejoicing. God had done a wonderful thing. We were all grateful to be part of it.

All glory to God! Praise Jesus! Thank you, Lord, that people are running into your arms and becoming your true disciples! Pray and join with the Lord in reaching more souls for the Kingdom and discipling the saints (Eph.4:11)
