Urgent Prayer Request for Orphans (formerly in slavery) in Great Distress!
by Chris Chaney
Imagine being abused in one of the most evil, tragic ways--in the sex trade! Now, they are free and making a fresh start and we ask for your prayerful consideration to help them live to fulfill all the Lord now plans for them. This is an urgent request for immediate food and hygiene supplies for 26 girls pastor Joy has found living in absolute squalor. These girls, whom we shall call orphans (they were also trafficked before as well), have escaped their life in bondage and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord but now find themselves unable to survive with even basic support and provision unavailable to them. In fact, they are starving and breaking out with various skin diseases. They are currently living outside in the jungle next to a small lake. Theyhave no food or running water nor any basic necessities of life.
When a girl or young woman escapes a life of bondage in India and becomes a Christian, they are thrust out of society completely. They have no means of earning support, as we in the West may understand it. Overtime, pastor Joy will help them start small businesses and develop other marketableskills, but for now, what they need most is rice, medicine, and feminine hygiene.
Ultimately, a low-income house needs to be located and rented for its shelter. But their situation is so dire; even that needs to wait for now. Pray and help! Won't you please give to bless these dear sisters in Christ who have nothing and even what they had, they have lost for the sake of Christ. They need $500 just to put a minimal foundation under their lives. We hope to locate a suitable place for them tolive in safety and seclusion within a few weeks. Look for another report in the near future.
