Greetings Friend of God, Let's pause a moment or two sometime today and say a prayer of thanksgiving to all the veterans who have served America and many have laid down their lives so we can be free. One of the most beautiful scenes I saw on the news regarding the war in Iraq was on their first election day. Remember, those people were so excited to vote they would stand amid the gunfire waiting patiently for the chance, the privilege to vote. And the women being able to vote for the first time in history! Now, that is historic. How come we don't hear more about all the schools, hospitals, water supply systems, sewer systems, etc. that have been built. Freedom comes with a price. We pray they appreciate their freedom that will come. With freedom comes responsibilities. Listen to this beautiful rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic done by school children. Pastor Vincent in Haiti lives in City Soleil, the poorest neighborhood in the western hemisphere. Four hurricanes have brought devastation to the already ravaged nation of Haiti. One person in their church has died from the storms. Twenty people in his church are homeless and living in his home. Last week Vincent helped bury victims of the storms including little babies.
